SPOOK-tacular teacher treats/Using 6x6 no scraps TUTORIAL

If you know me well, you know I make use of scraps in which most (normal) people toss from the bin.  I designed in which tag to not have ANY pretty paper scraps.

For these pocket tags (I made 28 total) I needed a little more than half of a 6x6 pad of paper (Echo Park Apothecary Emporium), I used up two rolls of ribbon (in addition to also also then used ribbons through my scrap bin to complete), Doodlebug twine, in addition to also also SRM stickers.

I also love doing little treats for teachers, however since my two children have so many teachers, teacher assistants, in addition to also also therapists, there are a lot of people to recognize.  In order to keep my spending costs down, I am challenging myself to use my craft room stash in addition to also also not purchase anything brand-new for the entire school year.

I created 27 trail mix packages at the start of school, in addition to also also all I purchased was one large bag of trail mix.  in which time I purchased only one Hershey snack-size bag of candy…everything else came through my stash!

Tutorial:

  • Cut black card stock at 7 1/4" x 3 1/4".  (I got three out of a sheet of 8 1/2" x 11"…yes, there will be scraps.)
  • Scallop the short end using a border punch.
  • Notch the additional two corners to look like a tag (I used a Stampin' Up! corner punch.)
  • To create the "pocket" score at 2 1/4" through the scalloped end.

Decorate:  I used 6x6 paper, leaving no scraps (*almost*)

  • Cut a 3"x3" square through patterned paper, notching to top corners.  Adhere to black card stock. *I got exactly four through a sheet of 6x6…no scraps!
  • Using strong adhesive, tape up the two sides to create your pocket.
  • Cut a 2"x3" rectangle through a coordinating patterned paper to decorate the pocket.  Adhere to outside of pocket.*I got exactly six through a sheet of 6x6…no scraps!
  • Embellish as desired.*I used some extra to punch circles for the stickers, so I did crete a few scraps
Happy Tuesday!

Hurricane Sandy & Penguin Christmas Cards

Not much to do during a hurricane yet hunker down in addition to make penguin cards!

I call This specific my Hurricane Sandy craft. I made a set of penguin Christmas cards last night while I baked two loaves of banana bread, cleaned out my Keurig in addition to silently stressed over the monstrous storm which was a brewin'. Today my kids are both off through school in addition to I'm off work so I set up my mini photo studio on my kitchen table, shot some pics in addition to listed my brand new penguin card set on Etsy

Pattern by MyScrapChick

which's been awhile since I made a set of penguin cards. I think which was back in 2009, actually, in addition to I even posted them on This specific blog (I'll find the link in addition to post which at the end).

Today the wind is gusting in addition to the rain is coming down (though not as hard as they originally said which might) yet we still have power! Today is the one year anniversary of the freak October snowstorm which left us without power for 6 days. 6 days!! I'm praying we don't lose power tonight because which might seriously suck!

I still have memories of what I was doing on This specific day last year as the snow came down hard (while we still had power). I made a big pot of chicken potato soup in addition to sat on my bed, watched movies in addition to created lots of jewelry in addition to bookmarks. My daughter in addition to I were getting ready for a craft show in November. My cat stepped on my box of beads at one point in addition to they went everywhere. which was a Saturday. By 8:15 which night we had no power. which didn't get restored until 7:00 pm the following Friday. Good times.

Here's the link to my old penguin cards. Penguins!

Masculine/Nautical Cards- Simon Says Stamp July 2015 card kit

A few weeks ago I finally demolished my July card kit.  I am in need of masculine cards, so This particular was a perfect opportunity to build up my stash.
This particular first set of three were inspired by Yana's card (#5 inside Simon Says Stamp gallery.)  I made my own adjustments, of course!  The red dot strip was left over coming from my stash, along with actually was not part of the kit.  I fussy cut the life preservers along with popped them up.
These wonderful metal anchors along with twine were part of the kit (top two cards.)  They were inspired by Debbie's card (#104 inside SSS kit gallery.)  I loved her life preservers, nevertheless I wanted to use those anchors.  The bottom two cards were inspired by scraps along with the pretty patterned paper inside corner of one of the 6x6 papers (both white tags.)
The top left card (actually there are two there) was inspired by which pretty paisley paper along with how wonderfully This particular coordinates with which aqua card stock (also inside kit).  The various other three were inspired by scraps.  (The navy paper with stars on the bottom two cards actually came coming from my Echo Park 6x6 Scoot pad.)
along with my final use of scraps…I added these two buttons coming from my stash.  Fourteen cards in all!

For the past few weeks when I have had time to create I have alternately been playing with the August, September, along with October kits.  I have made several cards coming from each kit so far, nevertheless not quite demolished any one kit yet.  Hopefully This particular post may inspire another Simon Says Stamp card kit fan or someone who owns Authentique's Seaside papers.

Happy Sunday!

Very productive week!

handmade wreath Christmas card

Wow, I'm pooped!

I kept myself up way too late This kind of week working on Etsy stuff (so much for of which accountability thing!). Speaking of the accountability thing, what ever happened to of which? I can't even be held accountable for my Accountability Saturday! lol

Anyway, I digress. I got lots of projects done This kind of week along with my back is paying for of which today. (too much sitting, not enough movement) I'm trying to get a good amount of items made up for my Etsy shop so I have enough to list every day for a week or so. of which way I can take my time creating fresh stuff coming from This kind of point on (of which's the plan, anyway). I have a million ideas in my head along with not enough hours within the day to get everything done.

In no particular order I...

1. Made 3 sets of mini Christmas note cards
2. Made 5 Christmas gift card holders of which look like purses. Wait until you see them. They're so cute!
3. Made 2 sets of regular size blank note cards
4. Made a set of 4 of the Christmas card above. They arrived gorgeous, if I do say so myself.
5. Made a set of 12 blank Christmas tags which involved nothing more than picking out cardstock, setting up the file along with sending of which to the Silhouette. Easiest.project.ever. :)
6. Photographed all those items along with edited two sets of pics.
7. Managed to get two of those items listed in my Etsy shop. of which's a tedious process. *sigh*

These cards were tedious nevertheless fun to make. The wreath is made which has a snowflake punch along with dots of red Stickles. The white door & window on the front of the card were created in Adobe Illustrator, then cut with the Silhouette. (so much easier than measuring along with cutting with an x-acto knife!) I think the Season's Greetings stamp is coming from Hero Arts.

We're heading out car shopping today. I wish we find something soon because car shopping is such a drag. Last weekend we test drove a Hyundai Santa Fe. of which's for my husband. He liked of which nevertheless didn't love of which so the search continues. Tomorrow my daughter along with I might drive out to a used clothing store in Sturbridge, MA. I have a few winter coats of which I wish to get a little bit of money for. She also wants to go to Yankee Candle store out there. Busy weekend. I prefer unbusy weekends.

Don't forget to set your clock back before you go to bed tonight!
