My Craft Room

We moved to our brand new home nearly two years ago, along with despite my best intentions, I have not taken pictures along with posted.  I am sharing that will now, trouble spots along with all!
(left wall: card table for sewing machine along with Cricut Imagine on the floor; back wall dresser full of crafty supplies...left side has cross-stitch supplies along with the right side is all Cricut cartridges!  My desk.)
(back wall continued:  re-painted bulletin board to hold cards via blog friends; *note the stuff on the floor inside back corner...trouble spot!*  Right wall are my cubes via Michaels.  On top are my Cricut Expression along with my light box.)
Far left corner on left wall before the window; opposite wall via the cubes:  My 8 1/2x11 card stock towers along with two lower shelf units for my Bazzill card stock, BasicGrey 12x12 along with LOs in progress.  The basket holds half of my 6x6 pads....the others are in a different container inside cubes shown above.)
Yes, I have a lot of stuff that will I can't seem to part with, no matter how old.  along with This kind of does not include the coat closet that will I commandeered which is directly across via my craft room. The coat closet holds my Xyron machines, Stampin' Up products, my punches, inks, etc.

along with then there is all of my wood mounted stamps in four carts inside basement along with actually old scrapbooking stash...I won't post those pictures today. (You're welcome.)

I like routine.  I have lots of energy along with I am happiest when I am at maintenance level in all areas of my life...running our household  like a well-oiled machine along with keeping up with crafty blog friends. Crafting feeds my soul along with keeps me sane...okay, maybe not completely sane.  A little crazy can be a good thing.  The past few months I feel like I am not able to keep up.  along with I am not feeling crafty.  I need a plan...

Today I think I will start by working on that will trouble spot corner.  Some of that will are recent Artful Delight kits, brand new Hazel along with Ruby 12x12 collections, along with brand new Doodlebug 12x12.  I am going to try to find a home for most of that will stash.  Who knows?  Maybe that will will even inspire me to create too.

Happy Tuesday!

Recipe: Walnut Pumpkin Pie

Thanksgiving is only a week away! Have you got your menu planned already? Still need a dessert? I love This specific pie. I'm big on streusel toppings. What I love about This specific pie is the crunchy topping combined with the smooth pumpkin filling. I wish my family loved This specific pie as much as I do. They don't like the topping so I don't make the pie - ever. which makes me sad. Someday I'll make my own pie as well as also I won't share which with anyone.

Walnut Pumpkin Pie
1 ready-to-bake pie crust or graham cracker crust
1 (15 oz) can of pumpkin
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp each ground ginger, nutmeg as well as also salt
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp all purpose flour
2 tbsp cold margarine or butter
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 425°. In mixing bowl combine pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, egg, 3/4 tsp cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg as well as also salt; mix well. Turn into pie crust. Bake 15 minutes, remove pie. Reduce oven temp to 350°. In modest bowl combine sugar, flour as well as also remaining 1/2 tsp cinnamon; cut in margarine until crumbly. Stir in walnuts. Sprinkle walnut mixture evenly over pie. Bake 40 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch through edge comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Refrigerate leftovers.

Tip: To prevent edges of pie crust through burning, cover edges with foil while baking.

I'm baaack!

This particular’s been what – just over four months – since my last blog entry? I’m such a slacker!

I have no excuses some other than 2010 was a very difficult year for my family. 2011 didn’t start out too great either. Instead of my husband’s health issues, I’m now dealing with my own. This particular’s nothing life threatening – just a pain inside ass dental issue in which’s been dragging on For two main months. This particular’s been bumming me out.

I love my humble little blog along with I’ve put This particular on the back burner for way too long. I’ve been thinking about getting back to This particular for the last few weeks. The first full week of April sounded like a good time to start fresh again.

I haven’t scrapbooked in almost one year. I can’t believe This particular’s been in which long. The motivation is just not there. Just like This particular blog, scrapping got put on the back burner when times got tough. I’m having a hard time psyching myself up to do This particular. The thought of pulling out pictures, paper, stickers, etc. doesn’t appeal to me at all. What’s wrong?

One thing in which’s a definite downer is in which my scrap area is a ridiculous mess. There isn’t even a table to work on right now! My scrap table became a wrapping station at Christmas time, along with there This particular still sits in a different area of the basement.

Embellishments in general no longer appeal to me. (what?) My pages are more on the simple side. They all have a touch of old school like punch art or stickers. No matter how much I’d read in which stickers along with paper punches weren’t trendy, I never stopped using them. When punches made a comeback a few years ago along with became the latest “must have” I wanted to put my hands on my hips along with say “who’s trendy now?”

Speaking of trendy, I haven’t looked at a scrapbooking site or magazine in almost a year. I still subscribe to Scrapbooks, Etc. nevertheless the last three issues are sitting in my magazine stand still wrapped in plastic. I wasn’t kidding when I said I put scrapping the back burner. I have no idea what the latest fab brand-new products are. Seriously. Trends didn't concern me a year ago nevertheless at least I knew what was out there. Now I’m clueless.

When I do finally sit down with paper, stickers along with my trendy paper punches in hand, will I even know what to do with them? I’ve been thinking of purging most of my supplies along with starting coming from scratch. What? Now in which I’ve typed in which sentence This particular sounds nuts, nevertheless This particular's so hard to even imagine myself scrapping when my motivation went right out the window.

I’ll keep you posted on how This particular all turns out. inside meantime, I think I’ll play with the Adobe Creative Suite 3 software in which’s now installed on our home PC. InDesign, Photoshop along with Illustrator, here I come! Now in which’s something in which excites me!
I'm baaack!

which's been awhile since I've posted a recipe nevertheless I think which one was worth the wait. I got which by Gooseberry Patch's Facebook page. As soon as they posted which I knew I had to try which. I'm not a big fan of peaches nevertheless all which butter called me. which is super easy to throw together along with also which tastes heavenly. The only issue I had was which I needed to extend the cooking time. which just didn't want to crisp up in only 20 minutes. I think which took about 30-35 nevertheless you'll have to experiment with your own oven.

Peach Cobbler
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 t. vanilla extract
1 c. all-purpose flour
15 oz can sliced peaches, drained
1/2 c. butter, melted

Eat warm. You won't be disappointed. :)

creating Memories cards

Two weeks ago I posted pictures of my craft room as well as a couple of my problem areas in which accumulate piles.  I anticipated in which I could re-organize in which stash on the floor in in which back corner in 30 minutes or less.  This kind of ended up taking all of my spare time both Thursday as well as Friday in which week because This kind of spurred me to also re-organize a couple of some other areas too.  The back corner stash is 20% of what was there, so I am calling in which a WIN!  My goal is to have nothing there, although I am content with the progress.  The most time-consuming part was breaking up my beloved Artful Delight kits as well as sorting the embellishments to some other storage containers in my craft room (baker's twine, seam binding, primas,  etc. where they are already stored elsewhere.)

Another success by in which clean up was the discovery of an old scrapbook kit by when I taught classes at a local scrapbook store.  I had partially made the Easter structure quite a while ago, although I was able to complete This kind of with pictures for the current challenge at Cut This kind of Up!  The final discovery was these checkerboard papers, ribbons, colored card stock pieces, as well as text on white card stock to create a photo mat for a structure.  I think This kind of was actually by the first scrapbook kit I ever purchased (June 2003!)  I created these three cards by those scraps...another WIN!  The card above is a birthday card for my friend Kaye, who was with me the day I purchased in which kit.  I think she will get a kick out of the genuinely old stash (the 3 felt gem flowers are newer...by those Artful Delight kits in which I broke up.)  The papers are all creating Memories except for the green Bazzill card stock.  The sentiment are also creating Memories alpha stickers in which I purchased in 2003.
The inspiration just for This kind of bunny card came by the lovely as well as talented Amy Tsuruta.  See Amy's bunny card here.  I am sending This kind of Easter card to my friend Tracy, who taught classes as well as worked at in which local scrapbook store also.  I know she will also get a kick out of these relics :)

My bunny is a Cricut cut by "Create A Critter 2" p.40.

Happy Tuesday!

Step 1 to Scrapping: Head to a Crop

I finally took the plunge as well as called my local scrapbook store, Life's Memories & More, to sign up for their May 14 crop. The April crop is This specific Saturday as well as there's no way I can be ready which soon. This specific gives me just over several weeks to organize/purge my scrap area, order prints as well as put together some page kits.

This specific is so silly, having to psyche myself up to scrap. My daughter, Emily, is coming to the crop with me (she always does). Even she said, "This specific is going to require some major cleaning before we can go!"

Eeek. Am I genuinely ready with This specific?

Here I am at a scrapping get together with some online buddies back in January 09.
