We Made the idea!
To all of us who were born within the 1930s, '40s, '50s, '60s as well as also '70s!
No matter what our kids as well as also the completely new generation think about us, we are awesome! Our lives are living proof!
First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked as well as also/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna coming from a can, as well as also didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then, after of which trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, as well as also, when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads.
As infants as well as also children, we might ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires as well as also sometimes no brakes.
Riding within the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water coming from the garden hose as well as also not coming from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, coming from one bottle, as well as also no one actually died coming from This particular.
We ate cupcakes, white bread as well as also real butter. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. as well as also we weren't overweight.
Why?
Because we were always outside playing...of which's why!
We might leave home within the morning as well as also play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day.
as well as also, we were okay.
We might spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps as well as also then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Play Stations, Nintendo’s as well as also X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVDs, no surround-sound or CDs, no cell phones, no personal computers, no iPods, no Internet as well as also no chat rooms.
We had friends as well as also we went outside as well as also found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones as well as also teeth, as well as also there were no lawsuits coming from those accidents.
We might get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, as well as also no one might call child services to report abuse.
We ate worms, as well as also mud pies made coming from dirt, as well as also the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks as well as also tennis balls, as well as also - although we were told the idea might happen - we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house as well as also knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in as well as also talked to them.
Little League had tryouts as well as also not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.
Imagine of which!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, as well as also inventors ever. The past 50 to 85 years have seen an explosion of innovation as well as also completely new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success as well as also responsibility, as well as also we learned how to deal with the idea all. If you are one of those born between 1925-1970, congratulations!
You might want to share This particular with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids before the lawyers as well as also the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.
While you are at the idea, forward the idea to your kids, so they will know how brave as well as also lucky their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't the idea?
This particular was not written by me. I got the idea in my email as well as also liked the idea so much I decided to repost the idea here. Feel free to share the idea! We Made the idea!
